Tracing terror videos on the Net Let's use the example of The Islamic Army in Iraq (Al-Jaysh al-Islami) - allegedly responsible for the kidnapping and beheading of Europeans and Americans in Iraq. A website with the domain name iaisite.net carries the group's name on its banner image and carries links to their videos. Some investigators claim that it is directly connected to Al-Jaysh al-Islami.
But how do we trace who is behind iaisite.net and the services that host the videos they link to?
Please note, the layout of some screengrabs in this tutorial have been altered for reasons of clarity, space and explanation. The hosting details are accurate at the time this report was written (February 2006) but may change at a later date. We do not suppose or allege that any of the sites or services mentioned in this report are connected with illegal activity.
